Volunteer Form and Opportunities
For anyone who wants to help spread empathy and transform lives (including your own!)
MI Headquarters Day Greeter
The MI Day Greeter will greet visitors during our public hours, bring visitors inside, share with them about what we do and upcoming events, and invite them to get involved with our community, depending on their interests. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves interacting with the public and visitors who drop in to Musical Intervention during the day.
Open Mic/Event Volunteers
This job requires someone with a desire to interact directly with the community. We need extra helpers at our events to be in charge of the door, the snack bar, tech/stagehand, and sound person, as well as clean up at the end of the night. This is a great opportunity to see what goes into running successful events as well as meeting inspiring and talented individuals.
Musical Intervention is searching for individuals who possess talent and would like to share them with the community. Some examples of workshops have been a Ukulele Workshop as well as a Poetry Workshop. You would lead a small group of people who have signed up for the workshop on your particular skill. Someone who would thrive in this job is someone who likes to teach, enjoys one-on-one interaction, as well as being creatively inspired.
Advertising and Street Team
Our good friend, Eddy, who is in charge of booking bands for us, needs some help. With all the new bands to be booked for this venue, we need some assistance with advertising and promotion of these events. This job requires someone who enjoys spreading the word and handing out flyers, putting posters up around town, and can also promote from social media sources. Someone who is goal driven and is good with deadlines will do well in this opportunity.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a Musical Intervention participant, one-on-one to develop their artist identity. This job would be great for someone who enjoys helping others, is efficient on social media, and has a positive and encouraging attitude.
The VC will be in charge of training and managing volunteers, staying in touch regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities such as special events, scheduling volunteer hours, updating the volunteer lists, and tracking volunteer hours. This role requires a 10-15 hours per week commitment. This opportunity is perfect for those who want to improve their leadership skills and enjoy working with a team of people with diverse personalities, different ages, and levels of skill, ranging from high-school students, to professionals and retirees.
House Band/Studio Musician
We are looking for experienced musicians who enjoy collaborating and performing with others, to play in our MI House Band during drop-in Rehearsal & Auditions and MI events, and/or who would like to be added to the roster of musicians to help lay tracks and record original projects on an as needed basis. This is a perfect opportunity for people who are creative, empathetic, and who would like to network with other like-minded musicians.
Creative and Performing Arts
We are looking for performers, artists, and creatives who enjoy sharing their talents and expertise with the MI community. We believe that all the arts belong at MI and those who can help us realize that vision are welcome to be a part of creating it.
